Thank you for supporting the Pryce Fund $25,000 goal for a pilot research study using functional magnetic resonance imaging. The study will measure changes in the brains of patients over time, to help evaluate therapies administered in clinical trials. Investigators at Hopkins have developed novel functional imaging techniques, and studies in HD mouse models suggest that they could be more sensitive to therapeutic interventions at earlier time points than current structural MRI methods. Using these new techniques could facilitate therapeutic trials in pre-symptomatic individuals, in order to delay or even conceivably prevent the onset of HD.
